Originating from Chhattisgarh, Dokra art is a revered metal-casting tradition that dates back over 4,000 years. This ancient technique, known as the lost wax method, involves meticulous craftsmanship and an intricate casting process. The artwork gifted to President Macron depicts traditional musicians in dynamic poses, celebrating the cultural significance of music in Indian tribal traditions.
It is primarily made form copper and brass and this particular piece is further adorned with lapis lazuli and coral, enhancing its aesthetic appeal.
