Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge public meeting in Dwarka for the Delhi Assembly elections. During this, he campaigned in favor of BJP candidates and discussed the major problems of Delhi. Expressing concern over the plight of the Yamuna river especially, he said that if the BJP government is formed in Delhi, they themselves will pay attention to the issue and take big steps for the rejuvenation of Yamuna.
Water problem in Delhi and big issue of cleaning of Yamuna – PM Modi
Addressing a public meeting in Dwarka, PM Modi said that lack of drinking water in Delhi, dirty water problem and cleaning of Yamuna have now become a major issue.
He said:
“The rivers of India have been the lifetime of our civilization. Our history, our economy and our culture have progressed on the banks of the river for centuries. Yamuna is not just a river, but a symbol of the spiritual and economic power of India. But, today it is in crisis due to the ‘disaster party’ (AAP). “
PM Modi targeted the AAP government without naming and said that the people in power in Delhi have completely failed to make Yamuna clean.
Will rejuvenate Yamuna on the lines of Gujarat – PM Modi
Referring to the rejuvenation of the Sabarmati river during his Chief Minister’s tenure, PM Modi said that when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he had built Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.
He said:
“I got a chance to serve in Gujarat as Chief Minister for a long time. Seeing the pathetic condition of the Sabarmati river, I was determined to revive it. Today, World Class Sabarmati Riverfront has been built in Ahmedabad, which has given new life to the entire city. ”
PM Modi assured that if the BJP government is formed in Delhi, then he will also decorate the Yamuna river and make it a world class tourist spot.
What will BJP government do for Yamuna in Delhi?
PM Modi assured Delhiites and said that if the BJP government is formed in Delhi, he will revive Yamuna as a clean, beautiful and developed river. For this, he made three big promises:
- Yamuna will be completely clean and pollution free.
- A modern riverfront on the banks of the Yamuna will be developed, where people can visit.
- Green Corridor will be built for tourism along the banks of Yamuna, which will give tourists and locals a great experience.
Not only this, PM Modi said that the possibilities of water metro in Delhi will also be considered so that the Yamuna river can also be used for traffic.
“Trust me, I will show the Yamuna by changing” – PM Modi
During his address, PM Modi appealed to Delhiites and said:
“The people of Delhi should trust me. I have experience, I have changed Sabarmati before and now I will change Yamuna. I myself will give time to the Delhi government and make the future of Delhi-NCR clean and beautiful by making Yamuna clean and beautiful. ”
Before the Delhi elections, the BJP’s strategy clearly shows that it is presenting the cleanliness of the Yamuna as a big election issue. Now it will be seen how much the public trusts this promise and in whose favor the results of the election go.
