Today, Sunday is the first day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka. Under this, he reached Anuradhapura in the morning. Here he visited Jaya Sri Mahabodhi Temple along with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumar Disanayake. After this, PM Modi and Sri Lankan President Anuradha Kumar Disanayake jointly launched the signaling system for the Maha-Anuradhapura railway line. This is a project completed with the help of the Government of India. Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the Maho-Omanthi railway line and flagged off the train.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi tweeted on ‘X’, ‘With his friend President Anuradhapura.’ Meanwhile, people were seen waiting for Prime Minister Modi and the President of Sri Lanka at Anuradhapura railway station. The Sri Lankan citizen Ratna Army said, ‘This is a big thing for our country. I feel very good that there is a close friendship between India and Sri Lanka.
Honored with ‘Sri Lankan Mitra Vibhushan Award’
Earlier, the Sri Lankan government honored Prime Minister Narendra Modi with ‘Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhushan Samman’. The Sri Lanka government offers this honor to the heads of state who have good relations with Sri Lanka. India have historically had good relations with Sri Lanka. Apart from this, when Sri Lanka was going through an economic crisis, India extended his hand to help Sri Lanka.
