Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Bhopal on February 23 for the Global Investors Summit. Heavy security arrangements have been made along the route.

He will reach Raja Bhoj Airport at 3:30pm on Sunday, from where his convoy will leave for Raj Bhavan. The people living in the houses along the 13.8 km route have been instructed to not peep or gather on the roadside to watch the PM’s convoy pass.

There are more than 1500 houses, hotels, lodges, and dharamshalas on this main road. In view of the PM’s security, the police have verified more than 10 thousand people living here. They have been told that those who will stay at home during VVIP movement should not come on the road. No one will be allowed to stand on the roofs and peep from the windows.

PM Modi’s convoy will pass through the boundaries of 5 police station areas—Gandhi Nagar, Kohefiza, Talaiya, Shyamala Hills, and Arera Hills police stations. The largest area on the route through which PM Modi will pass will be under the Kohe-Fiza police station.

Drones banned for 48 hours

District police personnel will be deployed on all the high-rise buildings on the entire route of 13.8 km. Police personnel will monitor every activity happening around with binoculars. Flying drones will be completely banned on this entire route for 48 hours.

Three-tier security system to guard VVIPs

A three-tiered security system has been planned for the VVIPs. SPG commandos will be present in the first layer, IPS in the second layer, and police personnel will be deployed for security in the third layer. During the program, about five and a half thousand police personnel, including 25 IPS, will handle the security arrangements. It will be monitored by ADG-level officers.

To make the security arrangements more foolproof, a dozen drones and more than 500 CCTV cameras will monitor every nook and corner of the city from the venue. Drones will be banned at the venue and the airport. Apart from PM Modi, diplomats from about two dozen countries and industrialists from more than a dozen countries are also coming to Bhopal.
