Riyadh : Prime Minister Modi is currently on a two -day visit to Saudi Arabia. Prime Minister Modi reached Jeddah on Tuesday (April 22) at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia. On arrival, Prime Minister Modi was given a grand welcome at the airport. This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third Arab visit. This is the Prime Minister’s first visit to Jeddah, the center of historical relations between India and Saudi Arabia.

During this visit, Prime Minister Modi will sign six MoUs (MoUs) between India and Saudi Arabia. They will also discuss some other important agreements to finalize. During this meeting with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the issues related to the Haj pilgrimage, especially for Indian pilgrims, will be discussed.

Prime Minister Modi’s grand welcome

As soon as the Prime Minister’s aircraft reached the Saudi airspace, it was provided security by Royal Air Force’s F-15 fighter jets. This grand reception is considered a symbol of growing relations between India and Saudi Arabia. The Prime Minister was welcomed with a grand political honor in Jeddah.

 

 

New direction to India-Saudi relations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will co-chair the second meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the purpose of this meeting is to promote bilateral relations. Before leaving for Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Modi said that India gives great importance to its long -term historical relations with Saudi Arabia. The partnership between the two countries has gained new pace in areas such as defense, trade, energy and people.

Haj pilgrimage and Indian quota will be discussed

According to the information received, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will discuss the quota and other arrangements of Indian Haj pilgrims during this visit. According to information given by Indian Ambassador Suhail Ejaz Khan in Saudi Arabia, Jeddah is an important city for connectivity between India and Saudi Arabia. The city is a major port for trade between the two countries. This place is also the entrance to maize. Every person who comes for Umrah and Haj pilgrimage first goes to Mecca via Jeddah.
