Waqf Bill will give voice and opportunity to people: Prime Minister Modi

The Prime Minister said that there was a lack of transparency in the Waqf system for decades. This damaged the interests of Muslim women, poor Muslims and marginalized Muslims, especially. Laws passed by Parliament will increase transparency and also protect people’s rights. This is an important moment for social and economic justice and transparency. Long -term marginalized people will help. The Waqf Bill will give voice and opportunities to the people.

Bill passed in both houses

The Waqf Amendment Bill was passed by both houses of Parliament. The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha after a marathon debate of about 12 hours. 288 votes were cast in favor of the bill and 232 votes in opposition. After this, there was a 14 -hour -long debate in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. After which this bill was also passed in the Rajya Sabha. In the Rajya Sabha, 128 votes were cast in favor of this bill, while 95 votes were cast against it. The bill will be sent to the President after passing by both houses of Parliament. This will become a law after the President’s approval.

 

 

This bill is not against any religion: Kiren Rijiju

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju passed this bill in both houses. He described the Waqf Amendment Bill a new dawn. During the discussion on the Waqf Bill in the Rajya Sabha, he said that this bill is the demand of the hour. It has transparency and accountability. The name of this bill is ‘Hope’. No one should object to hope. This bill is not against any religion.

More than 1 crore people suggested on Waqf Bill

He said that we have brought this bill with good intentions. The Waqf Bill was discussed in detail in JPC. People’s opinion was collected by visiting 10 cities on this bill. The bill was prepared after deliberations from all sides. More than one crore people gave suggestions on the Waqf Bill. This bill is necessary due to the ongoing dispute over Waqf property. The bill was discussed with 284 organizations. There are many cases pending about Waqf property. The Modi government is doing what the Congress could not do.
