There was a bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Government’s Interim Advisor Mohammad Younus during the BIMSTEC summit in Thailand. Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs gave detailed information about the discussion between the two leaders.

 

Vikram Egyptian, Foreign Secretary, Government of India, said that the issue of minorities in Bangladesh has been raised. Prime Minister Modi in his meeting with Mohammad Yunus openly raised the issue. He has expressed deep concern. The Prime Minister hoped that the Bangladesh government would do this work and will carry out its responsibility well.

He said that Prime Minister Modi expressed India’s commitment to support a democratic, stable, peaceful, progressive and more inclusive Bangladesh. He also told Yunus about India’s desire to establish more positive and creative relations with Bangladesh. During this, the issue of Sheikh Hasina was also discussed. Bangladesh raised the issue of Sheikh Hasina. But it is not appropriate to say anything about this right now.

 

Mistry said that Prime Minister Modi had also suggested that such excuse should be avoided. Due to which bilateral relations are unnecessarily deteriorating. Let us tell you that the two leaders had a bilateral meeting with each other in Bangkok.

The meeting between the two leaders is held at a time when Mohammad Yunus is engulfed in controversies over talks with President Xi Jinping during his visit to China. Bangladesh Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus, who visited China, said on Chinese soil that Dhaka is the only sea protector in the region. Unus allegedly counted India’s obstacles, inviting China to invest in its country and wooed China saying that it had no investment in Bangladesh.

Referring to the north-eastern states of India, Muhammad Yunus said that the north-eastern states of India are called seven sisters. These are the land-warfast countries from all sides, the places of India. They have no way to reach the sea. Bangladesh is the only sea patron in this entire region.
