There was a bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Government’s Interim Advisor Mohammad Younus during the BIMSTEC summit in Thailand. Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs gave detailed information about the discussion between the two leaders.

He said that Prime Minister Modi expressed India’s commitment to support a democratic, stable, peaceful, progressive and more inclusive Bangladesh. The meeting between the two leaders is held at a time when Mohammad Yunus is engulfed in controversies over talks with President Xi Jinping during his visit to China. Bangladesh Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus, who visited China, said on Chinese soil that Dhaka is the only sea protector in the region. Unus allegedly counted India’s obstacles, inviting China to invest in its country and wooed China saying that it had no investment in Bangladesh.
