At anevent in village Mohabhatta, Bilaspur district, Prime Minister  Narendra Modi was presented with a handcrafted Kosa silk shawl, a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s rich weaving tradition and tribal cultural heritage. The shawl, gifted by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, is more than just an exquisite textile—it is a vibrant reflection of the state’s art, music, and tribal identity.

The handwoven masterpiece showcases the deep-rooted craftsmanship of Chhattisgarh’s local weavers. The shawl’s intricate embroidery highlights the ‘Todi’—a traditional bamboo instrument integral to tribal music—and the dynamic ‘Bison Horn Madia dance’ of Bastar’s Madiya tribe. The Todi instrument resonates deeply within the tribal lifestyle, while the Bison Horn Madia dance embodies valour, energy, and collective unity.
