Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday joined Truth Social, a social media platform owned by Trump Media and Technology Group.

In his first post on Truth Social, PM Modi said, “Delighted to be on Truth Social! Looking forward to interacting with all the passionate voices here and engaging in meaningful conversations in the times to come.”

PM Modi’s decision to join Truth Social came after US President Donald Trump shared a podcast of PM Modi’s conversation with Lex Fridman, which was released on Sunday.

PM Modi thanked President Trump for sharing the podcast link, stating, “Thank you my friend, President Trump. I’ve covered a wide range of topics, including my life journey, India’s civilisational outlook, global issues and more.”

After being barred from Twitter and Facebook in 2021, Donald Trump launched Truth Social. Since then, he has regularly used the platform as a tool of communication.

In his interview, PM Modi addressed a wide range of topics including artificial intelligence, sports such as cricket and football, geopolitical matters concerning China and Pakistan, his personal history, and his thoughts on US President Donald Trump.

When discussing Trump, PM Modi expressed admiration for the president’s unwavering commitment to the United States, particularly following the assassination attempts he faced in the previous year. Modi reflected on Trump’s strength of character during the US election campaign, noting, “I witnessed the same resilient and determined President Trump after the shooting incident that I had walked alongside in that stadium. Even in the face of an assassination attempt, his dedication to America never faltered. His entire life has been dedicated to his country.”
