A Finance Ministry official said that India is reviewing reduced import duty on more than 30 goods including luxury cars, solar cells and chemicals. This will reduce global trade stress and increase exports to the US.
Government will reduce agricultural cess

This tariff can be reduced after consultation with the industry.
Import duty on these items will be reduced
The import duty on a total of 32 items will be reduced, including luxury cars, solar cells, sports ships, semiconductor chips and other machinery. In which after cutting the basic customs duty by the government, imports are levied from 6.5 percent to 70 percent AIDC duty.

Aggarwal further said that India’s average import duty, including AIDC, is more than the US, China and Japan. India can temporarily reduce tariffs to protect domestic industries and increase their global competitiveness.
