Planning For Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027 Begins With College Meet, Students To Play Key Role | Sourced
A meeting of the management colleges of Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj Sanstha was organised at IMRT, a joint institution of Savitribai Phule Pune University Nashik Sub-Centre and Nashik Police Commissionerate regarding the planning of Kumbh Mela 2027. Principals of colleges in Nashik city and surrounding areas as well as talukas, Student Welfare Officers, NSS and NCC coordinators were present in this meeting.
Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik addressed the meeting. On behalf of Pune University, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Parag Kalkar presented the role of Pune University and General Secretary of MVP Sanstha Nitin Thackeray expressed his views. On this occasion, University Management Council member Sagar Vaidya provided guidance.
The main objective of this meeting was to involve more than two lakh students from more than 200 colleges in Nashik as well as more than 15,000 volunteers of NSS, Rashtriya Chhatra Sena and Vidyarthi Kalyan Mandal in the planning of the Kumbh Mela to be held in Nashik in 2027. Guidance was given on the use of manpower, use of information and technology, transport system, health system, crowd control, security, waste management and safety in the planning of the Kumbh Mela.
In his opening speech, Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik outlined the expectations from the principals and students of the colleges of the police department. Dr Prashant Suryavanshi worked as the coordinator of the programme. Principal Dr Vilas Deshmukh coordinated the programme and Deputy Central Deputy Secretary Shripad Burkule proposed the vote of thanks. Deputy Commissioner of Police Khandvi, Prashant Bachhav, and Assistant Commissioner Nitin Jadhav were present on the occasion.
