Mumbai: Speeding Bike Crashes on Eastern Freeway Near Sewri, Pillion Rider Killed | Representational Image

Mumbai: A man was killed and another injured after a speeding bike crashed into the railing on the eastern freeway near Sewri on the intervening night of March 27-28.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Nomaan Khan, 26, while the injured rider is Arbaaz Mohammad Ali Khan, 32. Following the incident, the Sewri police registered a case against the bike rider, Arbaaz, under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for reckless and negligent driving.

Police officials stated that Arbaaz was riding the two-wheeler at high speed and carelessly heading southbound on the freeway. He lost control and crashed into the railing on the left side of the road. Nomaan, who was riding pillion, died on the spot, while Arbaaz sustained serious head and arm injuries.

Both victims were residents of Swagat Society in Ghatkopar. The police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
