A pillar collapsed during demolition work of a private school in Santacruz West on Friday night injuring four people. The incident took place around 7.30 pm when the Manikji Cooper High School located on Juhu Tara Road was been demolished.

As per information provided by the disaster management, at pillar of the school which was been demolished, collapsed on a adjoining chawl. Total four men were left injured in the mishap and were rushed to the Cooper hospital. Of the four injured, one is critical. The injured are identified as: Kamleshkumar Yadav (28) is Under observation, Manishkumar Sahani (24) is in critical condition and rest two Shamkumar Yadav (20) and Krushanakumar Yadav (26) were both treated and discharged from the Cooper hospital. 

As per preliminary information, the Manikji Cooper was a private high school whose demolition work was under process. On Friday night, which the structures was been demolished, a pillar collapsed leading to the debris falling on the adjacent premises, which was houses a chawl. Further investigation in the mishap is underway and authorities are inquiring whether all safety norms mandatory during carrying out a demolition work were complied.
