In order to reduce the increasing pollution in Delhi, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has announced to take strict steps. Under the new decision, trains from 1 April 2024 will not get petrol and diesel in Delhi.
This decision has been taken to improve air quality in Delhi. Sirsa said that a marathon meeting was held with the officials on this issue, in which several important decisions of pollution control were taken.
Strict action on 15 year old trains
After the meeting, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said,
“15 year old vehicles will not get fuel at all petrol pumps in Delhi. After 31 March, giving petrol and diesel to such vehicles will be completely discontinued. ”
- Use of new technology: Gadgets will be installed at petrol pumps, which will identify more than 15 years old vehicles and will not get fuel.
- Special team formation: A special team will be formed in Delhi to track 15 -year -old vehicles and get them out of the city.

DU students participation in plantation campaign
The Delhi government has planned to launch a large scale plantation campaign to reduce pollution.
- Delhi University (DU) students will be included in this campaign.
- Students will get the benefit of participation in this campaign through certificate or unique ID system.
Minister Sirsa said that this step will help in connecting the youth with environmental protection.
Strict instructions to large organizations and tall buildings
To control pollution, the Delhi government has given strict instructions to large hotels, office complex and tall buildings.
- It will be mandatory for all major organizations to install special gadgets for pollution control.
- Anti-mog gun will have to be installed in tall buildings, hotels and commercial complexes.
Delhi airport is also monitored
The Delhi government will now also investigate pollution at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
- Data of smoke and carbon emissions coming out of the airport will be assembled.
- The government will implement new pollution control policies based on this data.
New forests will be built on barren lands
New forests will be built on barren lands to increase lush green areas in Delhi.
- The objective of this initiative is to improve air quality in Delhi and increase the green sector.
- The government has made a plan to identify vacant lands and develop forests on them.
Following new rules mandatory
These decisions of the government are expected to improve the pollution level of Delhi.
- From 1 April 2024, 15-year-old vehicles will not get petrol and diesel.
- These vehicles will be identified using strict monitoring and technology.
- A plan will be implemented to plant trees, airports and tall buildings and convert barren land into forests.
