The construction of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) new administrative building is progressing at a steady pace, with major structural milestones already achieved.

Since its commencement in January 2023, the project has successfully completed the excavation work and the construction of three basement levels for parking. Currently, the above-ground structure has reached the third floor across all four wings (A, B, C, and D), marking a significant step towards the project’s completion within its 36-month timeline.

The ambitious project aims to bring all PCMC offices under one roof to enhance citizen service efficiency and governance.

8.65-acre facility

Providing an update on the construction progress, PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh said, “We are making steady progress on our vision for a centralized, modern municipal headquarters. With the completion of basement construction, the focus is now on rapidly building the superstructure. The new administrative complex will redefine how citizens engage with civic services, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.”

The 8.65-acre facility is being designed as a green building, targeting GRIHA 5-Star and IGBC Platinum ratings. It will feature solar power integration, a water recycling system, and extensive landscaping, underscoring PCMC’s commitment to sustainable urban infrastructure.

Elaborating on the current status, Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate said, “We have already completed the basement construction and progressed up to the third floor across all wings. The work is on track as per the timeline, and citizens will soon witness a world-class civic center that prioritizes accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability.”
