Pimpri-Chinchwad: PCMC Surveys 31,400 Households To Shape Youth Empowerment Programmes | Sourced

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has completed an extensive household survey under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana (CMYKPY), reaching over 31,400 households across 44 slums within the city limits. The initiative gathered crucial data on youth demographics, skills and career aspirations, providing a foundation for targeted skilling and employment programmes.

The survey data highlights areas where targeted interventions can make the most impact. It also underscores the need for better awareness campaigns, specialised training programmes, and closer collaboration with industries to bridge the gap between youth aspirations and job opportunities.

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, emphasising the survey’s role in shaping future initiatives, said, “The survey findings provide us with a clear roadmap to address the needs of our youth. It enables us to focus on skilling, career counselling, and creating opportunities that align with their aspirations and the demands of the job market.”

The insights from the survey are already being translated into actionable outcomes:

Skill Development Programmes: Tailored courses in IT, healthcare, and manufacturing are being designed to align with industry needs.

Community Engagement: Enhanced outreach campaigns are being planned to ensure all youth have access to these programmes.

Career Counselling: Focused guidance will be provided to help youth make informed career decisions.

By aligning its initiatives with the survey’s findings, the corporation aims to create a sustainable ecosystem that promotes growth and opportunities for all.
