Pimpri-Chinchwad: PCMC Implements 6-Step Plan To Tackle Open Garbage Dumping Ahead Of Swachh Survekshan 2025 | X/@maheshklandge

Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge announced on Monday that the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has initiated several measures to address sanitation issues caused by the removal of garbage bins and the resulting open dumping.

The measures, listed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on X (formerly Twitter), are as follows:

1. Identification of problem areas: The Health Department has identified 80 locations across eight zonal offices that are prone to waste dumping.

2. Enhanced garbage collection: The timings and frequency of garbage collection vehicles in these areas will be adjusted to ensure timely waste removal.

3. Beautification projects: The identified locations will undergo beautification to deter citizens from dumping waste at these spots.

4. Enforcement of penalties: Citizens found dumping garbage in public spaces will face penalties to discourage such activities.

5. Assignment of responsibilities: Officers and employees have been assigned to monitor ten locations under each zonal office, ensuring targeted oversight.

6. Improvement of public toilet access: To address the lack of accessible public toilets, especially on major roads and internal streets, petrol pump operators have been directed to open and maintain their facilities for public use.

These measures are part of the civic body’s preparations for the upcoming Swachh Survekshan 2025, conducted by the Centre, intending to enhance sanitation and public health in the city.
