Paush Pradosh fast: Pradosh Vrat is observed on the thirteenth day of every month. Pradosh Vrat is being celebrated today i.e. 28th December and Shani Pradosh Vrat will also be observed today. Devotees observing Pradosh fast should wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After lighting the lamp in the home temple, anoint Lord Shankar with Ganga water and offer flowers. On the day of Paush Pradosh, worship Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha along with Bholenath. After offering Bhog, perform Aarti of Bholenath and meditate on him throughout the day.

On the day of Pradosh Vrat, the time of Pradosh Kaal is considered auspicious. All the worship done during this period is considered successful. By observing this fast one gets relief from diseases, planetary defects, troubles, sins etc. Apart from this, due to the virtuous effect of this fast, childless people get children.
What to do and what not to do on the day of Paush Pradosh fast
It is believed that one should never sit wearing black clothes during Pradosh Vrat Puja. Apart from this, if you are observing Pradosh fast then try not to do any wrong thing on this day. Tulsi should not be used in the worship of Lord Shiva. While offering coconut, keep in mind that offering coconut to Lord Shiva is auspicious but one should never offer coconut water to him. On the day of worship of Lord Shiva, you can wear green, red, white, saffron or yellow colored clothes.
