Six youths died after drowning in the Ganges river on Wednesday, about three kilometers from the Collector Ghat, the Gandhi Maidan police station area of the capital. According to the information received, all of them were playing volleyball in the Ganges river, when their balance deteriorated and they drowned in the river. Actually, they all went to bathe in the river Ganges and after bathing they started playing. This incident happened in this sequence.
Seeing the young man drowning, the local sailor ran and tried to save his life. However, not everyone could be saved. The deceased have been identified as Vishal, Rajneesh, Abhishek and Govind. It is being told that a minor is also among the dead. According to the information received, all the youths injured in the accident were staying in the lodge and preparing for competitive examinations.
Youth trapped in a strong stream of water
During the incident, a young man named Vishal first landed in water to bathe and drowned. Other youths also ran to save him, but they were trapped in a strong stream of water. After this everyone started drowning. As soon as the incident was reported, a crowd of local people gathered at the scene.
Immediate rescue work was started.
As soon as the incident was reported, the police came into action and with the help of NDRF, a search operation was carried out to find the dead body of a youth immersed in water. After this, the bodies of two youths are reported. At present, efforts are on to locate the bodies of four missing people. Efforts were made to find the dead body till late night but did not get success. Today a search operation can be conducted again.
