Nagpur’s MIHAN (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport) is set to see significant growth in its food processing sector as the Patanjali Mega Food & Herbal Park prepares to commence operations on March 9.
This project, which had its foundation stone laid in September 2016, is now ready to commence large-scale production, promising economic growth and job opportunities in the region.
The Patanjali Mega Food & Herbal Park processes various fruits and vegetables, focusing particularly on citrus and tropical produce.
The facility includes an advanced citrus processing unit that can manage 800 tonnes of fruit daily to produce frozen juice concentrate, which is entirely natural and contains no preservatives or added sugars.
One unique feature of this plant is its zero-waste approach. Every by-product is repurposed, maximizing efficiency and sustainability.
The facility not only focuses on fruits and vegetables but also includes a flour mill with a daily processing capacity of 100 tonnes of wheat. This flour will be supplied to Patanjali’s biscuit manufacturing units located in Jalna, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
Patanjali has invested Rs 700 crore in this mega project, with a total planned investment of Rs 1,500 crore
