Panvel civic officials and hospital representatives strategise medical tourism roadmap near upcoming NMIA | X – @PanvelCorp
In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Central Ministry of Tourism, a meeting was recently held at the headquarters of Panvel Municipal Corporation to determine the policy and roadmap for promoting medical tourism.
The meeting was conducted with representatives from major hospitals in the municipal area. “The Municipal Corporation is committed to boosting medical tourism within its jurisdiction to provide a stimulus to local hospitals and create employment opportunities for educated youth,” said an official.
In the recent meeting held at the headquarters, discussions were focused on offering high-quality yet affordable healthcare services to national and international citizens. Additionally, the initiative aims to provide opportunities for students from across the country and abroad to pursue medical education. Through this initiative, the Commissioner seeks to attract foreign investment into the sector.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the immediate facilities that can be provided to hospitals to support medical tourism. It was assured that information regarding the various medical services offered by these hospitals would soon be made available on the corporation’s official website. Furthermore, long-term strategies were also discussed, and it was revealed that the Municipal Corporation plans to develop a dedicated website for medical tourism to raise awareness and promote the initiative.
“With the Navi Mumbai International Airport set to commence operations soon, the corporation is keen on expanding and promoting medical tourism in its jurisdiction. In light of this, a constructive discussion was held with representatives from various hospitals in the area,” said the official.
Present at the meeting were Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anand Gosavi, Medical Officer Dr. Suresh Pandit, Medical Officer Dr. Manisha Chandak, Epidemic Officer Dr. Akash Thasale, along with officials and staff. Representatives from various hospitals, including Mitra Hospital, Lakshmi Eye Care, Medicover, Ashtavinayak Hospital, Lifeline Hospital, Motherhood Hospital, and White House Hospital, also attended.
