As part of the Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan 5.0, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) organized debate and elocution competitions at KLE College, Kalamboli, on February 22 (Saturday). 

The initiative aimed to instill the importance of environmental conservation and protection among school and college students through practical engagement. “The initiative reflects PMC’s commitment to educating and involving the younger generation in sustainable environmental practices,” said an official 

Following the directives of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vaibhav Vidhate, various activities are being conducted to raise awareness about environmental sustainability. The competitions were centered around the five key elements of the Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan – Sky (Aakash), Water (Jal), Air (Vayu), Land (Bhoomi), and Fire (Agni).

The elocution competition was organized to encourage students to develop confidence and awareness about environmental issues, while a debate competition on ‘Environmental Problems’ was conducted to promote critical thinking and discussion on pressing ecological concerns.

The event saw the presence of Manoj Chavan, Head of the Environmental Department of PMC. The corporation received active support from KLE College Principal Dr. Vijay D. Mendhulkar and faculty members Prof. Sheetal Gharge and Prof. Vishal Chavariya.
