Dhamtari, 29 November (HS). A liquor shop has been marked for opening in Gram Panchayat Muzgahan, adjacent to the district headquarters Dhamtari. As soon as they got information about this, Gram Panchayat officials and villagers are openly protesting. Panchayat officials and rural collectorate reached the office and expressed their protest by submitting a memorandum even before the liquor shop opened. The villagers have warned the administration not to allow liquor shops to open in their villages under any circumstances.
Gram Panchayat Muzgahan Sarpanch Chandrashekhar Sahu, Deputy Sarpanch Lakhan Sinha, Homeshwar Sahu, Parasram, Roopchand Yadav, Rajendra Sen, Balram Sahu, Ishwar Sen, Murari Sinha and other Panchayat officials and villagers recently reached the Collectorate office and requested to open a liquor shop in Gram Panchayat Muzgahan. It has been marked by the government for this, protest has been expressed on this.
In the memorandum submitted to the Collector, Panchayat officials and villagers have given a clear warning that under no circumstances will liquor shops be allowed to be opened in the village. Opening of liquor shop in the village will disturb the peace and order of the village. The atmosphere will deteriorate. There is a possibility of addiction of drinking alcohol among children and adults. Keeping in mind the future, the villagers are strongly opposing the opening of liquor shops in the village. Because primary, secondary and high schools are running in the village. A sub health center is also operated in the village. At present there is complete peace in the village and the villagers are happy. If the government opens a liquor shop in the village after identifying the site, the villagers will protest against it by protesting violently.
