Palghar, Maharashtra: Authorities in Palghar have announced plans to attach the properties of Avinash Dhodi, the prime accused in the murder of Shiv Sena leader Ashok Dhodi, who is currently on the run. This development comes after police officials confirmed that they were intensifying efforts to arrest Avinash Dhodi.
Ashok Dhodi, who had been missing since January 20, was later found dead in a water-filled quarry in Bhilad, Gujarat. His body was discovered after police tracked down his vehicle, which had been abandoned at the site. Palghar Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil stated that the police were moving forward with the process of property attachment and would soon arrest Avinash Dhodi, who is also the victim’s brother. “The Crime Branch has begun the process of proclamation, and the attachment of his property is imminent,” Patil told reporters.
The police have named seven individuals in the FIR related to the murder. Four of the accused have been arrested, while three, including Avinash Dhodi, remain at large. Additionally, the vehicle used in the crime was found in Rajasthan.
In a separate development, Akash Dhodi, the victim’s son, has expressed concerns over the investigation’s progress and has requested a CID probe into the case. He and his mother have alleged that Ashok Dhodi had regularly informed local police about the illicit activities of his brother, including bootlegging, but claimed no action was taken. The case has drawn significant attention, with growing public concern over the slow pace of the investigation into the murder of the prominent Shiv Sena leader.
