Palghar, Maharashtra: The District Caste Verification Committee of Palghar has successfully distributed 16,000 caste validity certificates to students and other beneficiaries from Other Backward Classes (OBC). The committee’s efforts also saw nearly 10,000 certificates issued in just one month, covering data from November 2016 to January 2025.
Caste validity certificates are essential for educational and government purposes in Palghar, and despite the complex document requirements, the committee has effectively streamlined the process. The District Caste Verification Committee has efficiently issued nearly 10,000 certificates in just one month.
Under the leadership of Chairman Raviraj Phalle and a team of experts, the committee verifies submitted documents, rectifies discrepancies, and issues certificates after approval. After document approval, the certificate is issued to the beneficiary.
Raviraj Phalle, Chairman, Caste Verification Committee, Palghar, stated, “Despite numerous challenges, we have ensured beneficiaries receive their rightful caste validity certificates. Many cases have been resolved within a month, and we are committed to continuing this effort and ensuring timely deliveries in the future.”
In 2016, the committee received 455 proposals for caste validity certificates, of which 454 were successfully processed and certificates issued within 30 days. One case was dismissed due to incomplete documentation. The highest number of cases resolved within 30 days occurred in 2017, with 3,144 proposals received. Out of these, 2,980 were valid, and 1,937 certificates were distributed within the 30-day period.
The year 2020 saw the fewest applications, with just 1,076 proposals. Of these, 980 were valid, and 637 certificates were issued within the 30-day timeframe. Since its inception in 2016, the committee has received nearly 18,312 proposals, of which 16,473 were validated. A total of 10,866 cases have been resolved, with certificates distributed within one month.
