Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Palaniswami said that if his alliance wins in the 2026 assembly elections, a coalition government will not be formed in Tamil Nadu. He also informed that there has been no special discussion between him and Amit Shah on this subject.
He said, “Union Minister Amit Shah never said that a joint government of AIADMK and BJP will be formed in Tamil Nadu. The media has incorrectly presented the statement.”

Palaniswami urged the media to stop moving ‘tricks’ and should not be distorted by distorting the facts. He clarified that Amit Shah’s announcement was only that the alliance would win elections and the government would be formed, but this does not mean that it would be a common government.
AIADMK will not share power with BJP?
The AIADMK chief bluntly said that if his alliance wins the election, the BJP will not participate in the government. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the coalition at the center, while the leadership in the state (Palaniswami) will be in hand.
