Islamabad: The first official reaction from Pakistan has come to light after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, a major tourist destination of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif has clearly stated that “we have nothing to do with this attack”, and he has also seriously alleged that people in India have stood up against the government.
Pakistan rejected India’s allegations
Speaking to a Pakistani news channel, Khwaja Asif said, “We condemn all kinds of terrorism. We do not support any kind of violence. The allegation that we are behind the Pahalgam attack, completely baseless.” However, he made a controversial statement and criticized India’s internal state. He said, “The current government of India is doing injustice to minorities. Violence against Buddhists, Christians and Muslims has increased. This causes citizens of the country revolting.”

26 people killed in Pahalgam attack, foreign tourists also involved
The attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday created a stir in the entire country. According to officials, 26 people were killed and several others were injured in the attack. The dead include two foreign tourists from the United Arab Emirates and Nepal. The attackers suddenly started firing on tourist vehicles convoys. After this incident, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held an emergency meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is noteworthy that the meeting was held directly at the airport after the Prime Minister returned from Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan’s misleading statement?
Indian officials say the attack is suspected of being related to Pakistan -based terrorist organizations. However, Khwaja Asif overturned these allegations and presented a picture of instability in India. “People in Nagaland, Manipur and Kashmir have stood up against the government. People are raising their voice for their rights.” He said so. According to experts, Pakistan is following its general policy of denial of responsibility and convicting India’s internal condition. However, India has indicated that it will pressurize Pakistan globally in view of this attack.
The issue of terrorism is a matter of international discussion.
After this attack, India has once again decided to raise its voice on the issue of terrorism at the international level. The Ministry of External Affairs has started the process of contacting the United Nations and other international organizations in this regard. Prime Minister Modi has expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and indicated strict action against the terrorists. Apart from this, orders have also been given to tighten security in Kashmir.
Indo-Pak relations once again assuming shadow
The attack in Pahalgam is not limited to Kashmir only, but it is once again falling on India-Pakistan relations. Although Pakistan has been denying responsibility and showing dissatisfaction in India has been an old tradition, this time the role of the global community is also being attracted. However, India has made this clear. “Action against terrorists is the only true response.”
