A tragic incident occurred during a cricket match being played in Adelaide, when Pakistani -origin Australian player Junaid Zafar Khan died due to excessive heat on the ground.
Due to excessive heat, he suddenly fell to the ground, after which he died. The incident took place at 4 am on Saturday morning at the Concorda College Oval of ACDT.
Death due to excessive heat
Junaid was treated by the paramedic team. But still the player died. It was very hot at the time of the incident. The weather temperature was about 41 degrees. Junaid was playing cricket during Roja. But after the health deteriorated, he drank water as per rules. But still Junaid’s life could not be saved.
After the incident, the Old Concordions Cricket Club issued a statement saying, “We are very sad to the death of a valuable member of the Old Concordeans Cricket Club, who today became tragically victims of a medical accident while playing at the Concorda College Oval today.” Despite the best efforts of paramedics, unfortunately he could not escape.
