It is reported that there has been a suicide explosion in a madrasa in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. 16 people have died in this. There has been an explosion in a madrasa associated with Haqqani and Mullah Omar. In this blast, 16 people, including JUI-S leader Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani, died. The blast occurred during the prayer of Jumme at Madrasa-e-Hakkania in Akora Khattak. Shahab Ali Shah, the chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, confirmed the death of Madrasa caretaker and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Semitic Group) chief Hamidul Haq Haqqani in the blast.

 

Suicide explosion during Friday prayers

16 people were killed and several others were injured in a suicide blast during a Friday prayer at Darul Uloom Hakania Madrasa, Akhora Khattak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Samey (JUI-S) was also killed in this attack. He was the former head of JUI-S and the son of ‘Taliban’s Janak’ Maulana Samiu Haq Haqqani.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfikar Hamid confirmed that it was a suicide attack and was aimed at its goal Maulana Hamidul Haq. He told the local media that security agencies are investigating the case and the cause of the explosion is being ascertained.

Darul Uloom Hakkania Madrasa is notorious for its radical Islamic ideology and is considered a major center of education for Taliban leaders. After this attack, security has been tightened in the entire area.
