Taliban is a headache for Pakistan

Pakistan was the most happy when the Taliban took power in Afghanistan. But now after three and a half years, the Taliban is nothing short of a headache for Pakistan. Pakistan’s special envoy Muhammad Sadiq Khan arrived in Afghanistan on a three -day visit in Afghanistan. He said that peace and progress in Afghanistan is essential for regional stability. His statement came at a time when border disputes, tension and clashes are seen daily in political relations between the two countries. When Sadiq Khan was in Afghanistan, the Pakistani Army claimed to kill 16 terrorists on the Afghan border. Pakistan has accused the Taliban -led interim government of sheltering terrorist groups and attacking border. Afghanistan denied these allegations. Tension increased when a passenger train was targeted in Balochistan, which was taken by the separatist group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). Pakistani officials said that while the BLA fighters were attacking, their operators were sitting in Afghanistan and were directly in touch with satellite phones. Hundreds of hostage were involved in the two -day attack.

Afghanistan was considered an important partner

On the occasion of Pakistan’s Republic Day, the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul said, “Peace and progress in Afghanistan are essential for regional stability.” Pakistan and Afghanistan should combine their efforts to promote regional economic development. The Pakistani ambassador has described Afghanistan as its country’s most important regional partner. The clashes between the two sides took place when Pakistan’s Ambassador Sadiq Khan was in Afghanistan. The Pakistani Army said in a statement on Sunday that it killed 16 terrorists trying to infiltrate the North Waziristan district on the night of 22-23 March. “Pakistan is constantly urging the Afghan government to strengthen its border,” said the media branch of the Pakistani Army, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The interim Afghan government is expected to fulfill its responsibilities. In November 2023, relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan worsened when Pakistan expelled most Afghan citizens from the country.
