Pakistan The government has prepared a ‘master plan’ for renovation and beautification of temples and gurdwaras in the country at a cost of one billion Pakistani rupees. The decision was taken on Saturday in a meeting chaired by Syed Ataur Rahman, head of the Evacui Trust Property Board.
Rahman said, “Under the master plan, temples and gurdwaras will be renovated and decorated and development works will be done with a budget of one billion Pakistani rupee.” He said that a lot of money is being spent on the maintenance of religious places of minorities.
Rahman also said that ETPB has received revenue of more than 1 billion rupees this year. The meeting was attended by members of Hindu and Sikh community as well as government and non-government members from across the country.
Speaking about the need to amend the ETPB Development Scheme, Board Secretary Farid Iqbal told the members that after changing the scheme for the purpose of increasing the revenue of the department, the assets of the trust are now being presented for development.
He said, “The revenue of the department will increase manifold by providing them for long -term development, providing them.” It was also decided to appoint a project director for the development and renewal works in various temples and gurdwaras and a project director for operational works at ‘Project Management Unit Kartarpur Corridor’.
