Eight children were killed on Thursday due to a landslide in a mountainous area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan. Local police officials told that around 9 to 14 children were playing cricket in Martung area of ​​Shangla district. During this time the ground shifted and all the people came under its grip. He told that all the children were between 12-14 years old who were trapped under the debris due to landslide while one child is still missing.

After the landslide, the rescue team reached the spot and started rescue operations to rescue the children. Heavy machinery has been deployed in the rescue work. The administration has declared an emergency in local hospitals.
