Islamabad: The recent Pahalgam terrorist attack in India has spread a wave of anger throughout the country and its effect is clearly felt in the neighboring country Pakistan. Pakistan’s security system has been under constant stress since the 2019 Balakot aerial attack, when India made accurate attacks on terrorist bases in Pakistan.

There is an atmosphere of anger in the whole country after the death of 28 Indian citizens in the Pahalgam attack this year. Due to this, Pakistan is afraid that India will once again take strict steps and has increased military activities along the Indian border. In particular, the fact that Pakistan Air Force has become very important, deployed on the border (Airborne Early Warning and Control) aircraft, also known as ‘Sky Eye’.

What is AEW & C? How powerful is ‘Sky Eye’?

The AW & C aircraft is the air radar system that can already detect enemy activities. The specialty of these aircraft is –

1. 360 degrees inspection capacity

2. Enemy’s ability to identify fighter jets, drones, missiles

3. Radar coverage from thousands of kilometers away

4. Competent technologies for electronic intelligence (ELINT)

Pakistan currently has Saab Eri AW & C aircraft, manufactured by the Swedish company SAAB and equipped with the ‘Erii’ radar system. The deployment of these aircraft on the border of India shows that Pakistan is very scared of any surgical strike or air strike from India.

India’s resentment response, Pakistan ready

Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to leave his Saudi Arabia and return to India, while Home Minister Amit Shah immediately visited Kashmir. While all this is happening, there is a lot of movement in Pakistan’s security system. Pakistan is keeping a close watch on the activities of the Indian Air Force, military communication and deployment on the border. According to some reports, the Pakistan Air Force has also started using Elint platforms to get advance information about India’s secret activities.

Pakistan’s terrible response

From the 2016 surgical strikes to the 2019 Balakot attack, India has also demonstrated its strategic abilities to the world by directly attacking terrorists. Therefore, Pakistan is confident that India will give a strong answer this time too. The deployment and high alert of AW&C aircraft on the border clearly means that Pakistan is preparing for India’s possible action, but the hidden fear behind it is also clear.

Pakistan is deeply afraid of ‘Balakot 2.0’

There is a huge tension in Pakistan after India’s Pahalgam attack. The deployment of AW&C aircraft was not only a strategic move, but it was an indication that Pakistan was nervous of fear of Indian attack. Although no official response has come from India yet, anger is increasing in the whole country and strict action is being demanded. In this backdrop, experts believe that this step of Pakistan is defensive, and suspicion of action like ‘Balakot 2.0’ is sitting deeply in Pakistan’s mind.
