Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on January 11 announced a 15-member squad for the two-match Test series against West Indies starting on January 17. Recently, Pakistan suffered a 2-0 defeat in the two-match Test series played against South Africa, and following the results of this tour, several important changes have been made in the team.

Seven changes have been made to the 15-member Test team on the South Africa tour, while some players have been rested due to workload management. Captain Shan Masood, vice-captain Saud Shakeel, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Rizwan, Noman Ali and Salman Ali Aga have been retained in the team.

To strengthen the spin department, off-spinner Sajid Khan and mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed have been included. Fast bowlers Aamir Jamal, Mohammad Abbas, Mir Hamza and Naseem Shah have been rested.

Opening batsmen Imam ul Haq and Mohammad Huraira have been included in the team in place of injured Sam Ayub and out-of-form Abdullah Shafiq. Due to the injury of wicketkeeper Hasibullah, Rohail Nazir has also got a place in the team.

Both the test matches between Pakistan and West Indies will be played in Multan. The first Test will run from 17 to 21 January and the second Test will run from 25 to 29 January.
