Pakistan cricketers have reportedly been heavily fined in the last few months for violating some of the rules and regulations. All-rounder Aamer Jamal has notably copped the heaviest of them for writing the ‘804’ and the 28-year-old was fined approximately PKR 1.4 million as the number relates to former Pakistan captain Imran Khan, who is now behind the bars.

As per a report in Samaa TV, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a total fine of PKR 3.3 million on the players for not following rules and regulations since the home series against England which carried through to the South Africa tour. Meanwhile, Jamal faced a fine of nearly PKR 1.4 million fine for writing ‘804’ as it is believed to be Imran Khan’s badge number in the jail and the all-rounder likely did so to express solidarity towards him.

However, the PCB punished him for expressing his political inclination on the field and the board did not include him in the Champions Trophy 2025 squad for this reason. Meanwhile, Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, and Abdullah Shafique copped a fine of PKR 5,00,000 for returning late at night during the limited-overs tour in Australia. The likes of Sufiyan Muqeem, Abbas Afridi and Usman Khan were fined $200 each for returning late to the team hotel during the South Africa tour.
