Jammu- Two people involved in terrorist activities have been arrested in Shopian district of Kashmir. Police gave this information in this case today (19 May) and weapons and ammunition have been seized from them. Shopian District Police said on social media platform ‘X’, “In anti -terrorism campaign, two suspects have been arrested by a joint team of SOG Shopian, CRPF 178 BN and 34 RR. 4 grenades, 2 pistols, 43 live cartridges and other criminal materials have been seized during the campaign. FIR has been registered against both.”
The official said the preliminary information recovered from the accused included 02 hand grenade, 01 pistols and 35 live cartridges. Later, after questioning, he said that there are more weapons and ammunition and additional weapons and ammunition have been recovered from other places. This includes 01 pistols, 02 hand grenade, 08 live cartridges.

Campaign against overground workers
Joint forces have launched a campaign against terrorists, their underground workers (OGWs) and their supporters in the Union Territory. This operation is run jointly by the army, police and security forces. Last week, six terrorists were killed in two consecutive operations in Shopian and Pulwama districts. The slain terrorists also included an operational commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET). After the Pahalgam attack, security forces have continued their action against terrorists and active terrorists and more than 100 OGWs have been arrested and about 95 have been arrested under PSA and kept in various jails in Jammu and Kashmir.
26 citizens killed

There is no notice of arrest of anyone during this operation. Senior police officials said that this campaign is part of the government’s policy of terrorism and zero tolerance towards terrorists. However, security agencies have not mentioned the names of the terrorists and their helpers whose houses were searched.
Security force ready for big action
In the coming days, security agencies may take major action against active terrorists across the Line of Control in Poonch district and Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, the property of two terrorists who carried out terrorist activities across the Line of Control were seized.
