Special flight to bring back tourists trapped in Pahalgam

After the terrorist attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. After Srinagar, Amit Shah went to Pahalgam and visited the spot. After paying tribute to the dead, Home Minister Shah posted an X post on social media and said, “I pay tribute to those who lost their lives in a heavy heart. India will not bow before terrorism. The culprits of this cowardly terrorist attack will not be spared.”

At least 28 people were killed and several others were injured in a sudden attack by six terrorists on Tuesday afternoon at a tourist destination known as Mini Switzerland near Pahalgam in South Kashmir. Most of the dead were tourists.

Abdullah government announced compensation

The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced compensation for the Pahalgam attack. The government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of every person killed in the attack on Wednesday. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the loss of loved ones cannot be compensated by any amount, but the Jammu and Kashmir government announces assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased. Chief Minister Omar has announced a compensation of Rs 2-2 lakh for those seriously injured in the attack and Rs 1-1 lakh for those who were marginally injured.
