Kathmandu : There is a large scale protest against Pakistan in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. A Nepali citizen died in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. This has spread a wave of resentment among the people of Nepal. This protest is demanding the closure of the Pakistani Embassy. The terrorist attack took place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Pahalgam, a major tourist destination of Jammu and Kashmir, India. 5 to 6 attackers opened fire on tourists who came for holidays in Pahalgam. 26 people have died tragic in this attack, including a Nepali citizen.
Slogans like “Pakistan Murdabad” are being raised during the protest. People are protesting with posters of Pakistani Army Chief. The army chief is being held responsible for this terrorist attack. People say that a Nepali citizen lost his life due to Pakistan supporting terrorism. Due to this, people have demanded the Nepal government to close the Pakistani Embassy.
The protesters are demanding that Nepal reconsider their diplomatic relations with Pakistan and close the Pakistani Embassy. As long as Pakistan does not stop promoting terrorism, such terrorist attacks will continue and innocent citizens will lose their lives.
Nepal supports India
After the Pahalgam attack, Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Oli Sharma expressed condolences to the victims of the attack. He also expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. Posting on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister said, “Deep condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Nepal stands firmly with India. Nepal strongly condemns any act of terrorism. Also, the victims also include a Nepalese citizen. We are ready to take necessary action.”
Security increased on Indo-Nepal border
Security has been increased on the Indo-Nepal Sonauli border in view of the Pahalgam attack. Strict security arrangements have been made. There have been many incidents of terrorist infiltration in the region. Due to this, security guards have been ordered to check the identity of people before crossing the border.
According to the information given by the Superintendent of Police of Maharajganj, security has been increased on the Indo-Nepal border. The SSB has deployed CCTV cameras and drones on the route leading to Nepal to prevent terrorist infiltration. At present, an atmosphere of fear has spread in India due to this attack.
