When did the Kandahar aircraft kidnapping occur?

In 1999, an Indian Airlines aircraft was kidnapped from Nepal. The terrorists took him from Kathmandu to Amritsar and Lahore and then Kandahar in Afghanistan. The aircraft had 180 passengers. In exchange for these passengers, the terrorists had conditioned to release 3 terrorists including Maulana Masood Azhar. The terrorists kept the aircraft kidnapped for a week. To save the lives of the passengers, the then Atal Bihari Vajpayee government decided to release the three terrorists. These included Maulana Masood Azhar, Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar and Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. These terrorists were taken to Kandahar by a special aircraft. The same Masood Azhar founded the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed in 2000.
