There are shocking revelations about terrorists who massacred Hindus in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In the Basaron Valley, known as Mini Switzerland, these terrorists shot and killed 26 tourists after asking tourists to their religion. After this attack, the terrorists hid in the dense forests of the mountains. Security forces are continuously conducting search operations to catch them. The investigation so far revealed more than 70 terrorist bases, which were carefully prepared and hidden in high hills and dense forests. The location and structure of these bases show that while creating them, the terrorists not only depended on local help, but were also taking help of military expertise.
Pictures of these locations have also been revealed, in which it can be clearly seen that the terrorists dug a pit and covered it with wood of trees and dried leaves. In some cases, the hiding place was hidden among the rocks in such a way that it resembled a simple crack. Their formation and hiding methods suggest that terrorists adopted commando level hiding strategy to avoid security forces.
Investigation agencies have also seized huge amounts of evidence from these bases – a month’s ration, rice sacks, ranges and pits dug for gold and weapons have also been recovered at some places. All of these reveals that the terrorists were planning to stay in these places for a long time.
According to sources, these locations were discovered after the information made by local activists (OGWs), who helped the security forces reach these places after intensive interrogation. A joint search operation is going on by the Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the dense height forests of South and North Kashmir and more such hideouts are likely to be found.
