News India Live, Digital Desk: There is an atmosphere of anger and tension across the country after the horrific terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 22 people were killed in this attack, including most tourists. Seeing the seriousness of the attack, the Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi have demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to call a special session of both houses of Parliament.
Mallikarjun Kharge wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging that a special session of Parliament should be called as soon as possible to display mass will and resolutions against terrorism. Kharge shared his letter on the social media platform ‘X’ and wrote that unity and solidarity is very important to face this cruel terrorist attack on the citizens of the country. Calling a special session will be a strong step in this direction.
Rahul Gandhi also sent a letter to Prime Minister Modi requesting a special session of Parliament. Giving a message of solidarity against terrorism, he said that the whole country stands together in the fight against terror.
Meanwhile, Kharge also expressed displeasure over the absence of Prime Minister Modi’s all-party meeting. He alleged that the BJP is trying to divide the society during such a crisis, while unity and collectivity is necessary in this hour of crisis.
