There is no sign of Pakistan’s nefarious activities on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. For the last nine nights, Pakistan has been continuously firing without provocation. The Pakistani army once again violated ceasefire in Kupwara, Uri and Akhnoor areas, which the Indian Army gave a befitting reply.
This incident took place at a time when tension between India and Pakistan has increased after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. 26 people were killed in this attack. Three days ago, India had given a clear warning to Pakistan that the frequent violations of ceasefire would not be tolerated.
Pakistan has been firing continuously since 24 April.
On Tuesday, a hotline was discussed between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan, in which the incidents of firing and infiltration were discussed by Pakistan. Pakistan started firing in various sectors along the Line of Control from the night of 24 April, which is still going on. The same day India announced the postponement of the Indus Water Treaty.
Pakistan shut down its airspace for Indian aircraft
In response, Pakistan shut down its airspace for Indian aircraft, sealed the Wagah border and suspended all business relations with India. Pakistan threatened that if India tried to divert water from Pakistan, it would be considered as “war action”.
In February 2021, DGMOs of India and Pakistan promised to re -implement the 2003 ceasefire agreement, but the current situation is once again pointing to unrest and fear at the border.
The border is divided into three parts.
A total of 3,323 km border is shared between India and Pakistan, divided into three parts: the International Border (IB), which extends about 24,00 kilometers from Gujarat to the northern bank of Chenab River in Akhnoor, Jammu; The Line of Control (LoC), which is 740 km long from Jammu to Leh; And the real land status line (AGPL), which divides the Siachen sector from NJ 9842 to 110 km from Indira Call.
