What did Asaduddin Owaisi say?
The Supreme Court has just ruled on this. The Supreme Court has ordered that no appointment will be made in the Central Waqf Board and the State Waqf Board until the next hearing. We consider the Waqf Act to be unconstitutional. This is a violation of Articles 25, 26, 15 and 29. I have already said this. I say the same thing today.
What’s the matter?
The Supreme Court has banned two sections of the Waqf Act. This is being considered a major setback for the Modi government. The Supreme Court has directed the central government to respond within seven days. The next hearing on the Waqf Board Amendment Act will be held on 5 May. Opposition leaders took an aggressive stand against the Waqf Board Amendment Act. More than 70 petitions have been filed against the Waqf Board. There was a joint hearing on this.
What are the comments of the Supreme Court?
The petition filed against the Waqf Act was heard today. There are some provisions in this law. It is impossible to completely suspend this law. The Supreme Court has directed that the case should be maintained till the case is under consideration in the court.
