Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Over half dozen minors escaped from a juvenile home in Jabalpur on Monday.
The juvenile home is in the Ranjhi police station area of Jabalpur. The incident occurred around 1:30 AM on Monday night.
As soon as the authorities from the police department and the juvenile home were informed, a panic set in.
The Ranjhi police registered a case based on the complaint of the security guard and began searching for the minors.
According to police information, all the minors are habitual offenders with serious crimes like assault, knife attacks, and theft registered against them.
The minors reached the roof of the juvenile home on Monday and Tuesday night, from where they jumped down into the premises.
They then attacked the security guard, snatched the keys to the gate, and escaped after unlocking the door.
Before fleeing, the children also took the security guard’s mobile phone so that he couldn’t alert anyone.
The security guard somehow managed to inform the police, and the search for the escaped minors began immediately.
The ages of the minors range from 16 to 18 years.
Police officials have stated that a case has been registered, and the search for the children is ongoing.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time minors have escaped from the Ranjhi juvenile home.
Previous instances also saw minors escaping, but they were later found and brought back.
This incident has raised questions about the security at the juvenile home, especially regarding why only one security guard is entrusted with the safety of children involved in criminal activities.
