Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Skill Development Minister Gautam Tetwal in a written reply to the House on Monday made it clear that more than 26 lakh unemployed youths were registered in employment exchange. Tetwal made the statement in reply to a question by Congress legislator Bala Bachchan.
According to Tetwal, the youths who aspire for jobs are registered in MP Rojgar Portal. The situation of unemployment presented to the House is up to November this year, Tetwal said. The minister said that 58,000 youths got employment in the private sector in the past 11 months.
Nevertheless, the minister did not say anything about how many people got employment after the formation of the BJP government. The Public Service Commission and the MP Employees’ Selection Board recruit staffers in the government sector.
In his reply, Tetwal also said that a provision for Rs 1,000 crore was made under the Mukhya Mantri Sikho Kamao Yojna in 2023-24. Out of this amount a sum of Rs 37.94 crore was given to trainees, the minister said, adding that a sum of Rs 301 crore was provided under Sikho Kamao Yojna for 2024-25.
The government has re-appropriated Rs 295 crore under the provision for financial aid to meritorious students and Rs 22.50 crore under Mukhyamantri Jankalyan Yojna.
