The Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025 witnessed an enthusiastic participation from over 150 employees of Western Railway (WR), including senior officials, who showcased their athletic spirit in various categories of the prestigious race.
Ashok Kumar Misra, General Manager of Western Railway, led the team from the forefront by participating in the 10 km run and completing it successfully. His participation served as an inspiration for the WR contingent. Several senior officials, including Manoj Yadava, Director General of RPF – IR; Kuldeep Jain, Senior Deputy General Manager (SDGM/WR); Narendar Panwar, Chief Freight Transportation Manager (CFTM/WR); Pankaj Singh, Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division; Sachin Sharma, Secretary to GM/WR; Ujjwal Deo, Deputy General Manager (DGM/WR), and Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of WR, also participated in various race categories such as the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km run, and Dream Run.
An official of WR, stated that Ashok Kumar Misra’s active participation motivated the WR team to perform their best. “He set an example for the entire team by leading from the front,” he said.
Adding to the marathon’s vibrant atmosphere, Western Railway erected a stage near the Churchgate Promenade, where the RPF band played melodious tunes to cheer the runners and promote safe travel on railways. A contingent of 50 RPF jawans, including eight women personnel, joined the race to spread awareness about RPF’s initiatives to ensure passenger safety.
The Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025 provided a platform for Western Railway to not only promote fitness and teamwork among its employees but also to engage with the public on important issues such as railway safety and security.
