Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project workers received a crucial safety boost through the ‘Prayas’ campaign, which featured over 100 Nukkad Nataks (street plays) across construction sites. Organized to prioritize worker safety, the campaign engaged more than 13,000 workers from diverse backgrounds across the corridor.
According to National High Speed Rail Corporation, campaign, conducted in two phases during June and December, utilized interactive street plays to deliver critical safety lessons in an engaging format. Topics included proper use of safety equipment, adherence to guidelines, emergency response protocols, precautions for working at heights, and the importance of a safe work environment.
“Acknowledging the diverse workforce, the plays were performed in simple, universally understandable language to ensure maximum impact. These performances spanned casting yards, tunnel shafts, under-construction stations, depots, bridges, and viaducts, effectively reaching workers in various segments of the massive infrastructure project” said an official.
“The initiative highlights the project’s commitment to worker well-being, ensuring safety protocols are not only understood but actively practiced. By prioritizing awareness and education through innovative methods like Nukkad Nataks, the Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project reinforces its dedication to creating a safe and sustainable work environment” further added official .
