Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Citizens have erupted in anger following the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which left 26 people dead. What began as grief has quickly turned into a powerful wave of public outrage, with residents taking to the streets to demand justice and action.

At the centre of the movement is Chhappan Dukan, iconic food street, where an especially provocative message has gone viral. A poster declaring, “Pigs and Pakistani Citizens are not allowed” now hangs prominently, featuring a morphed image of Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir with a pig’s face.

The image, which brands him a “mastermind of terror,” has drawn crowds eager to take selfies — a unique mix of mockery and resistance.

Gunjan Sharma, president of the Chhappan Dukan Association, said, “They killed our people for their faith. This poster is our way of saying we won’t be silent. We want justice, and we want it now. We’re waiting for a strong response from Prime Minister Modi.”

As a mark of mourning and unity, vendors and staff along the food lane wore black armbands, a quiet but powerful tribute to the victims.

Meanwhile, a bold declaration by local advocate Lokesh Mangal has further fuelled the protest spirit. In a letter to the Prime Minister, Mangal offered Rs 1 crore reward to any Indian, soldier or civilian who brings back the head of a terrorist involved in the attack.

He also pledged to personally fund the amount, saying, “If 100 terrorists are eliminated, I’ll pay Rs100 crore. This is about protecting our people, not politics.”

Mangal insists his offer is legal and rooted in a citizen’s right to demand accountability. “We pay heavy taxes. Why shouldn’t some of that go toward our safety?” he said. He also promised free legal aid to any civilian who acts in defence of the country and takes up the challenge.
