Police in Moradabad have taken prompt action following reports of indecent performances at a Baisakhi fair held within the premises of the prominent Sri Sri 108 Nale Wale Baba Temple in Suraj Nagar, Thakurdwara. The event, traditionally a celebration of cultural and religious significance, sparked outrage after bar dancers were allegedly brought in to perform vulgar routines on stage.

Accordig to repots, videos of the performances has gone viral on social media, drawing sharp criticism for violating the sanctity of the temple and offending community sentiments.

“We received multiple complaints from distressed locals who were appalled by the nature of the performances conducted on sacred grounds,” stated the Thakurdwara Station House Officer. “Our preliminary inquiry indicates that while permission was granted for cultural and religious events, the organisers grossly overstepped boundaries by facilitating obscene acts in a public space.”

A case has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against the fair committee president, Sunil; committee member Sanjeev; and event contractor Javed. The trio stands accused of misleading authorities by disguising the inappropriate show as part of traditional festivities.

Long-time residents expressed dismay, noting that such displays were unprecedented at the temple. “This incident has tarnished our community’s image and shown blatant disregard for our religious customs,” shared one local, speaking on condition of anonymity.
