There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hilly areas of five districts of Uttarakhand during the next 48 hours. Due to which the temperature will drop rapidly and there is a possibility of cold in the state. There, there is a possibility of cold wave and dense fog in the plain districts of Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar. In view of the cold wave, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert. On the other hand, in many parts of the state including the capital Dehradun, the Sun God could not be seen since Thursday morning. According to Vikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Centre, a western disturbance is likely to be active in some parts of the state. Due to this, rain and snow are likely over the hilly areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Dehradun.

However, the weather pattern will be seen only for 48 hours. Due to the weakening of the Western Disturbance on December 31, the effect of cold will reduce.
